Stone Mountain LIVE time change ....
The doors will now open at 5:30 pm for all Stone Mountain LIVE evening shows . If you will be enjoying a Big Table Dinner, service will begin promptly at 6:00 pm and the show will begin at 7:30 pm. If you have a general admission ticket to these shows, please plan to arrive after 6:30 pm.
NEW ... ANNUAL APPEAL ....
Our 2nd Annual Appeal is underway as Stone Mountain Arts Center celebrates our third anniversary with Miss Mary Chapin Carpenter sharing the stage as a special guest of Stone Mountain LIVE on August 1st. During the last three years, we have brought a variety of performers to this unique venue, some of the top names in entertainment, and some not so famous but great, all up close and personal. Our loyal concert goers have been asking us for some sort of membership opportunity... so here it is! A limited number of SIX PACK Memberships will be sold, so act now. Your membership includes admission to 6 shows (valued at $50 each or less) and will include a complimentary pizza or salad at each of these shows (value up to $20 each). A series of concerts bringing music to the country at ticket prices to fit every pocketbook presenting great musicians that may not yet be household names, but are really great and affordable. Tickets will be $13 per person for a really great night of music for a small ticket price. Be sure to check our Event Calendar for listings. Tickets will go fast for this series.
NEW ... ROOSTER REVUE Luncheon Show Series
We launched a new lunch time show series to be held at least once a month on the third Tuesday. The first show held was a sell out in April. This is an exciting format for lunch for groups and for friends wanting to do something a little different and special. It is also been welcomed by those who do not want to travel to the Arts Center in the evening. Shows include a multi-course lunch, entertainment, gratuity and tax ... all for $36 per person. Immediately following a May 15th concert by Capeverdean band, Ferro Gaita, a show review appeared on the website of Sodade Magazine, a quarterly promoting Capeverdean music worldwide.
The Boston Globe wrote about SMAC as "Far and Away Maines' Coziest Venue" which appeared in the May 10th Sunday paper.
Downeast Magazine and Portland Magazine both included feature stories about the Arts Center in their April, 2009 issues.............................
We're on TV - again!!!!!
Friday, March 6th "Main Street and Back Roads, Maine's Southwest Kingdom" Boston's WCVB TV's Chronicle Show aired for the first time at 7:30. If you missed the show, click the link to listen to them tell folks why internationally known musicians are showing up to play in a 200 seat theatre made out of an old barn in Brownfield, Maine. We hope you don't have to watch this segment for the answer!
